The band toured Boston's club circuit and was led by Frank Connelly their first manager. They began working with Steve Leber, David Krebs, New York managers. The band signed a record contract in 1972, and then released their debut album titled "Eponymous" in 1973. The album was immediately followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. The album brought Aerosmith global fame and recognition. These albums brought famous hits like "Dream on", Walk This Way, "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". Aerosmith's first five albums were all multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks are regarded as among the top albums of hard rock ever. But as the decade wore on the frantic pace of performing, recording, sharing a home, and consuming drugs began to take its toll on the band. Because of their famed use of stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were called the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music and numerous video recordings of Aerosmith illustrate their bond. Tyler, apparently much more dedicated to the band appeared to dislike Perry's aloofness and envy Perry's focus on females in his life. The tension between Tyler, Perry, and their former girlfriends was an important factor in the gradual decay of Aerosmith in the 1980s.
